Visitor access other than essential visitors

We have been working hard to explore new ideas so that we are able to achieve a better visiting experience while maintaining the safety of residents, staff and families. We are now able to offer visits with ONE (designated) adult family member in the second floor lounge. Access to the designated visiting area will be provided by the assisting recreation staff members through the black gate at the top of the driveway. In order to maintain the safety, we expect the following from the visiting family members. Visitor must follow the direction provided by the assisting staff members. Visitor must leave within the assigned visiting time. Touching or hugging the resident during your visit is strictly prohibited. Any such attempt will result in the immediate end of the visit with the possibility of cancellation of all future visits. Visitor must follow all recommended safety measures with the recommended respiratory etiquette at all times. Assisting recreation staff member/s will actively monitor the visits and if at any time they feel any risk to the safety of the staff, resident or family member they will have full authority to stop the proceedings immediately and ensure the safety of the resident, staff and visitor. We know families want to connect with their loved ones in person and this is an opportunity to ease visit restrictions using a measured approach. These measures include. Client and visitors must not have any symptoms of illness, even mild symptoms. Clients and staff are screened twice-daily. All visitors need to self screen for illness before they arrive by asking themselves: Do I have a fever, cough, shortness of breath or do I feel unwell? If you answer yes, do not visit at this time. Every visitor will be screened before each visit. Visits will be hosted in designated area ONLY behind a plastic barrier and clients and visitors must maintain a two metre physical distance at all times. These visits can continue through the next several months as staffing and weather allows and as long as our home remains free of a COVID-19 outbreak. You can also stay connected with your loved one by phone, email and letters. The health and safety of our clients is our first priority. We appreciate your cooperation with our visitor restrictions.
